HyphoSphere — Player's Guide
Everything you need to know to build your fungal empire and conquer the cosmos.
01. Getting Started
How to start
- 01Launch HyphoSphere and start your first game.
- 02Click your Hypha to produce your first Nutrients.
- 03Buy your first organism as soon as you have enough Nutrients.
- 04Unlock Upgrades to multiply your production.
- 05Keep building and buying upgrades until Sporulation.
- 06Sporulate to restart with permanent bonuses.
Main Objective
Accumulate as many Nutrients as possible, build all 10 organisms, and sporulate to earn Primordial Spores that permanently boost your progression.
Sporulate when you feel ready — each Primordial Spore grants a permanent +5% production bonus that stacks indefinitely.
02. The 10 Organisms
Each organism produces Nutrients per second. The more you buy, the higher your production. Cost increases with each purchase.
The first fungal filament. Slow but fundamental — the foundation of every mycelial empire.
A sturdier structure that colonises deep soil layers.
Symbiosis with plant roots — draw nutrients directly from trees.
The mushroom itself. Releases spores that colonise new territories.
Fires spores at high velocity to reach distant areas.
A mycelial network spanning an entire forest. Every tree works for you.
Parasitise insect hosts to spread your empire at high speed.
Your mycelium develops proto-intelligence. Growth becomes exponential.
An entire forest under fungal control, distilling psychoactive compounds of infinite power.
Beyond biology. Your network transcends matter and invades the cosmos.
03. The 41 Upgrades
Upgrades are purchased once and provide permanent bonuses. Some double an organism's production, others affect multiple organisms or boost your clicks.
Upgrade Types
Organism Multipliers: double or quadruple the production of a specific organism.
Global Upgrades: increase production for all organisms.
Click Bonuses: increase Nutrients produced per manual click.
Milestone Unlocks: appear when you reach a certain number of organisms.
Prioritise upgrades for your highest-producing organisms. A ×2 on your best organism is often worth more than a +10% global bonus.
04. Sporulation (Prestige)
Sporulation is HyphoSphere's prestige system. Reset your game in exchange for Primordial Spores — permanent bonuses that make you stronger each cycle.
How to Sporulate?
- 01Reach the minimum accumulated Nutrients threshold (shown in-game).
- 02The 'Sporulate' button becomes available in the interface.
- 03Confirm sporulation — all organisms and upgrades are reset.
- 04You receive Primordial Spores based on your run performance.
✨ Primordial Spores
Each Primordial Spore grants a permanent +5% bonus to all production. Bonuses stack: 10 spores = +50%, 20 spores = +100%.
Sporulation resets your Nutrients, organisms and upgrades. Only Achievements and Primordial Spores are kept.
05. The 100 Sporulations
Each sporulation (prestige) assigns a unique modifier that fundamentally changes how the run plays out. The first 100 sporulations follow a fixed sequence. From the 101st onward, the mutation is drawn randomly from the existing 100.
| 1 | Normal Run | No active modifier. A normal run, ideal for beginners or as a breather between tough mutations. |
| 2 | Dense Network | Organisms cost 20% less, but upgrades cost 60% more. Stack as many organisms as possible before investing in upgrades. |
| 3 | Vital Click | Your clicks are 8× stronger but passive production is divided by 2. A run for active players: click constantly to compensate for the reduced NPS. |
| 4 | Rooting | The first 4 organisms (Hypha to Carpophore) produce ×6, the next 6 only ×0.15. Focus all resources on early-chain organisms. |
| 5 | Parasitism | The 4 most advanced organisms (Cordyceps to Singularity) produce ×6, the first 6 only ×0.25. One Cordyceps is given for free at the start so you immediately benefit from the ×6 bonus. |
| 6 | Root Symbiosis | Each click generates 5% of your NPS as bonus, and NPS→Click upgrades are worth 5× more. Global upgrades are disabled: maximize your NPS to make each click devastating. |
| 7 | Silent Mycelium | Passive production is ×5 and you start with 3 free Hyphae and 50 nutrients. In return, your clicks produce nothing. A fully AFK run: build and let it run. |
| 8 | Forced Specialisation | Every hour, a random organism gets ×30 while the others drop to ×0.05. Track rotations and invest heavily in whichever organism is currently favored. |
| 9 | Austerity | Organisms cost 30% less and NPS is ×4, but no upgrades are available. The threshold is divided by 4. A raw sprint without bonuses: mass-buy organisms and let passive production carry you. |
| ★ 10 | Great Sporulation | ★ The sporulation threshold is halved, making this run very fast. In return, no Primordial Spores are granted at the end. A fast run to progress without permanent gain. |
| 11 | Frenzy | Each organism bought increases global NPS by 1%, but organisms cost 25% more. The more you accumulate, the more production snowballs exponentially. |
| 12 | Trophic Inversion | Production order is reversed: the Hypha takes on the Mycелial Singularity's power and vice versa. The cheapest organisms become the most productive this run. |
| 13 | Proliferation | Organism-specific upgrades cost 80% less, but global and click upgrades are inaccessible. Mass-buy organism-specific upgrades. |
| 14 | Perfect Balance | If you own the exact same count of each organism type, production is ×3. Otherwise it's halved. Manage your purchases with mathematical precision. |
| 15 | Double Path | NPS, clicks, and sporulation threshold are all doubled. A symmetric mutation — more powerful but also longer to sporulate. No special strategy required. |
| 16 | Half Network | 5 random organisms (fixed at run start) get ×4, the other 5 are locked. Adapt your strategy to whichever organisms were drawn. |
| 17 | Cascade | Each upgrade bought increases global NPS by 8%, but each upgrade costs 10% more than the last. Buy in sequence to create a snowball effect. |
| 18 | Hyper-Depth | Organisms cost 25% more, but owning over 100 of the same type triples their production. Specialize in 1-2 types to reach that threshold. |
| 19 | Total Symbiosis | Root Symbiosis events yield 4× more, but base production is divided by 3. Be very attentive to random events and don't miss any symbiosis. |
| ★ 20 | Total Awakening | ★ The sporulation threshold is ×3, but you receive 3× Primordial Spores at the end. A very profitable long-term investment for patient players. |
| 21 | Resonance | Each owned organism type adds +6% global NPS, but each missing type removes 4%. Diversify your network to maximize the resonance bonus. |
| 22 | Unstable Mutation | Every 45 seconds, a random multiplier between ×1 and ×4 is applied to all production. Progression is chaotic by nature — adapt to peaks and troughs. |
| 23 | Concentration | Every hour, one random organism gets ×50 while all others are locked. Invest massively in whichever organism is currently favored. |
| 24 | War Economy | Each organism or upgrade purchase temporarily reduces NPS. Buying upgrades gradually restores it. A run that penalizes impulsive buying. |
| ★ 25 | Mass Sporulation | ★ You receive 2 Primordial Spores instead of one, but the threshold is 50% higher. An excellent reward/effort ratio for mid-game runs. |
| 26 | Fungal Fast | NPS is zero for the first 10 minutes of each session, then multiplied by 6. No offline gain. Launch the game and wait before buying. |
| 27 | Slow Growth | Both NPS and sporulation threshold are divided by 4. Progression is 4× slower, but sporulating remains achievable. A calm run for patient players. |
| 28 | Late Specialisation | Organisms 6-10 (Forest Network to Singularity) produce ×10, but the first 5 are locked. You start with 1 Forest Network for free — go straight for advanced organisms. |
| 29 | Penultimate Evolution | All multipliers (NPS, clicks, symbiosis) are doubled, as is the threshold. A powerful and versatile run, ideal as preparation before the final sporulation. |
| 30 | Mycelial Singularity | The end of the first cycle. No active modifier — a normal run marking the transition between the first 30 sporulations and cycle 2. |
| 31 | Fungal Chain | Each organism boosts the next organism's production by 20%. The 1st boosts the 2nd, the 2nd boosts the 3rd, etc. Buy in ascending order to maximize the chain effect. |
| 32 | Fermentation | NPS grows by 2% per minute of continuous play. Buying a new organism type resets the accumulator. Stick to the same types and let time work for you. |
| 33 | Mimicry | The organism you own the most of boosts all others' production. Focus purchases on a single type to maximize the mimicry bonus. |
| 34 | Freeze & Thaw | Every 3 minutes, production alternates between ×5 and ×0.2. Synchronize purchases with boost phases and save during cold phases. |
| 35 | Initial Sprint | Production is ×15 for the first 3 minutes of active play. Offline time doesn't count. Play intensively at the start then let it run — the multiplier doesn't recharge. |
| 36 | Endurance | NPS starts at ×0.2 but gains +3% per minute with no cap. A run that rewards patience: after several hours, production far exceeds a normal game. |
| 37 | Last Hour | Before reaching 50% of the sporulation threshold, NPS is halved. Once past it, NPS is ×5. The second half of the run is spectacularly more productive. |
| 38 | Fungal Clock | Every 20 minutes, a random organism gets ×15 for 5 minutes. Track the rotations and mass-buy whichever organism is currently in its power window. |
| 39 | Active Dormancy | Being idle for over 60 seconds multiplies production by 10. Clicking resets the bonus. No offline gain. Put down the keyboard and watch the mycelial network grow on its own. |
| 40 | Triple Evolution | NPS ×3, clicks ×3, symbiosis ×2, and threshold ×3. Everything is boosted in a balanced way. A run of considerable general power requiring no specific strategy. |
| 41 | Even Mycelium | Even-ranked organisms (Hypha, Mycorrhiza, Sporangiophore, Cordyceps, Hallucinogenic Forest) produce ×6. Odd-ranked organisms produce only ×0.1. Ignore odd ranks entirely. |
| 42 | Odd Mycelium | Odd-ranked organisms (Rhizomorph, Carpophore, Forest Network, Fungal Consciousness, Singularity) produce ×6. Even-ranked organisms produce only ×0.1. Ignore even ranks entirely. |
| 43 | Coral Fungus | Each organism type you don't own adds +10% to global NPS. Owning more than 5 different types triggers a penalty. Keep yourself to 4-5 types maximum. |
| 44 | Useful Toxicity | Each upgrade bought significantly boosts NPS but also disables a random organism. The more upgrades you buy, the simpler your network becomes. Choose wisely. |
| 45 | Crystal Hypha | Your clicks are ×50 and you automatically gain 5% of your NPS per click. Passive production is disabled and the threshold is halved. If you don't click for 2 hours, passive production resumes normally. |
| 46 | Osmosis | Every 10 seconds, 50% of your NPS is automatically converted into auto-clicks. In return, NPS is halved. Total production stays similar but manual clicking is less useful. |
| 47 | Controlled Cataclysm | Base production is reduced to ×0.1, but every 2 minutes an automatic ×10 burst is triggered. Production is spasmodic but balances out over time. |
| 48 | Degradation | Organisms lose 1% of production per minute continuously. Buying an upgrade restores +10% production. Invest regularly in upgrades to maintain output. |
| 49 | Anti-Gravity | Expensive organisms have their cost halved, while cheap organisms cost 3× more. A run that encourages buying advanced organisms directly from the start. |
| ★ 50 | Fungal Half-Century | ★ 3 Primordial Spores at the end, but the threshold is ×2.5. The best spore/effort ratio of all milestone runs — well worth the extra effort for mid-progression players. |
| 51 | Deep Symbiosis | Root Symbiosis events yield 8× more than normal, but base passive production is reduced to 20%. Be extremely attentive to Symbiosis events and never miss them. |
| 52 | Osmotic Pressure | Production is multiplied by the number of different organism types you own, but each duplicate (more than one of the same type) removes 5%. Buy 1 of each type, then diversify. |
| 53 | Silent Productivity | Being idle for 60 seconds multiplies production by 8. Any interaction (click or purchase) resets the counter. No offline gain. A run of total contemplation with no interaction. |
| 54 | Temporal Memory | The average of your NPS over the last 30 seconds is permanently added to your current NPS, but base NPS is halved. Maintain consistently high production to benefit from the memory bonus. |
| 55 | Cascade Mutation | Each upgrade bought triggers a random secondary effect in addition to its normal effect — bonus, malus, or other. The result is unpredictable: every purchase is a surprise. |
| 56 | Even Depth | Even-ranked organisms produce ×8 and odd-ranked only ×0.33. An even more extreme version of P41 — even organisms dominate completely. |
| 57 | Bitter Spore | You receive double Primordial Spores at the end, but the threshold increases by 5% for each spore you already own. The larger your spore collection, the more demanding this run is. |
| 58 | Fungal Lightning | Both the sporulation threshold AND NPS are divided by 10. The run is 10× faster, but production is anemic. Sporulate in a flash — without much reward but very quickly. |
| 59 | Ghost Network | Organism types you don't own still generate 20% of their theoretical production, like ghosts in the network. Diversification becomes less critical this run. |
| 60 | Quadruple Breakthrough | NPS ×4, clicks ×4, organism cost halved, but threshold ×4. Considerable raw power — production rises quickly, but sporulating is 4× harder. |
| 61 | Golden Hypha | The Hypha (organism 0) produces ×200, but all other organisms produce only ×0.02. Buy Hyphae exclusively in astronomical quantities — they are your only source of production. |
| 62 | Giant Mycorrhiza | The Mycorrhiza (organism 2) produces ×200, but all other organisms produce only ×0.05. Buy Mycorrhizae exclusively to maximize production. |
| 63 | Expanded Consciousness | The Fungal Consciousness (organism 7) produces ×200, but all other organisms produce only ×0.05. You start with 1 Fungal Consciousness for free — focus everything on this organism. |
| 64 | Continuous Sporulation | The sporulation threshold automatically increases by 1% per minute, and NPS is divided by 3. Sporulate as fast as possible before the threshold becomes unreachable. The base threshold is divided by 3 to give you a head start. |
| 65 | Living Heritage | Each organism type you have bought at least 50 of since the start of the game (across all runs) boosts NPS by ×1.2. A massive advantage for veteran players. |
| 66 | Fertile Decomposition | Every nutrient stored (unspent) generates 0.001% bonus NPS per second. Save your nutrients and let your fungal treasury work for you. |
| 67 | Magnetic Spore | Symbiosis is ×10, but for each achievement already unlocked at the start of the run, production decreases by 10%. A run that penalizes experienced players — past progress works against you. |
| 68 | Eternal Network | Your total production accumulated since the very beginning of the game (across all runs) reduces your sporulation threshold. NPS is reduced by 20%. The more you've played, the easier this run. |
| 69 | Fragmentation | Each production tick has a 10% chance of doubling production and a 5% chance of halving it. A chaotic mutation where every second can bring a surprise. |
| ★ 70 | Ancestral Awakening | ★ You receive 2 Primordial Spores and a random mutation from P1-P69 is also active this run, stacking with base effects. Prepare for any combination. |
| 71 | Hyperplasia | The organism you own the 2nd most of boosts the production of the one you own the most of. A two-main-organism strategy — the second acts as an amplifier. |
| 72 | Bare Roots | The sporulation threshold is reduced to 40% of normal — even faster than P10. In return, no Primordial Spores are granted. An express run with no permanent reward. |
| 73 | Free Upgrades | All upgrades are free, but each upgrade bought cumulatively reduces NPS by 2%. Be very selective — every upgrade has a hidden production cost. |
| 74 | Bounce | Each purchase triggers ×2 production for 30 seconds. If 60 seconds pass without a purchase, the bonus drops. Buy regularly and constantly to keep the boost active. |
| 75 | Harmony of Ten | If each organism type you own is a multiple of 10 (0, 10, 20, 30...), production is ×5. A run requiring mathematically precise management of every purchase. |
| 76 | Quantum Hypha | Each click has a 1% chance of producing ×1000 nutrients at once. But normal clicks are worth only half. A lottery run — with luck, gains can be astronomical. |
| 77 | Mirror Network | Organism costs are reversed: the cheapest become the most expensive, and vice versa. Production is unchanged. Take advantage to directly buy normally very expensive organisms. |
| 78 | Vital Cycle | Both NPS and threshold are halved. Progression is twice as slow but also twice as easy to sporulate. A relaxing and perfectly balanced run. |
| 79 | Mycelial Explosion | NPS is ×20, but everything — organisms and upgrades — costs 5× more. Production is massive but building the initial network is extremely expensive. |
| ★ 80 | Fungal Transcendence | ★ 4 Primordial Spores at the end, but the threshold is ×4. One of the best milestones for accumulating spores across multiple runs. Significant effort but the reward justifies the investment. |
| 81 | Anachronism | Upgrades are purchased in reverse order — the latest ones are available first. They cost 40% less. Exploit end-game upgrades from the very beginning of the run. |
| 82 | Winter Network | NPS starts at only ×0.1, but each upgrade bought doubles the global NPS. With enough upgrades, production can explode. Invest everything you have into upgrades. The base threshold is ×0.15 to compensate for the starting penalty. |
| 83 | Corrosion | Production decreases by 0.1% per second continuously and inexorably. Buying an organism restores +5% production. Buy constantly to keep your production level. |
| 84 | Wild Spore | At the start of the run, a random multiplier between ×0.5 and ×8 is drawn and applies to all production for the entire run. You might get a very easy or very hard mutation — that's the risk. |
| 85 | Cosmic Balance | If your NPS is approximately equal to 3× your NPC (production per click), a production bonus is granted. Any surplus is lost. Balance NPS and click power precisely. |
| 86 | Burning Mycelium | NPS is ×5, but without clicking it loses 1% per second down to a minimum of ×0.1. Clicking resets the degradation. A hybrid run requiring regular activity. |
| 87 | Fungal Heritage | The total number of organisms bought since the very beginning of the game (across all runs) boosts this run's NPS. Base NPS is halved. A run that rewards accumulated experience. |
| 88 | Perfect Duality | Effective production is the minimum of your NPS and NPC×3, all multiplied by 2. To progress, maintain a perfect balance between passive production and click power. |
| 89 | Metamorphosis | During the first half of the run, production is only ×0.25. But once 50% of the threshold is reached, it jumps to ×6. A run in two radically different phases. |
| ★ 90 | Approaching Singularity | ★ 5 Primordial Spores at the end, but the threshold is ×5. The second-to-last major milestone — extremely difficult but very profitable for players aiming for a maximum spore collection. |
| 91 | Convergence | All organisms have the same production per unit bought, regardless of their natural power. Costs remain normal. The cheapest organisms become relatively the most efficient per investment. |
| 92 | Subliminal Network | Your actual NPS is ×3, but the display always shows 0. The game progresses normally without you being able to see your progress. A psychological run that tests your trust. |
| 93 | Light Spore | Each achievement unlocked reduces the sporulation threshold by 1%. NPS is divided by 5. The more achievements you have in your collection, the easier this run. A collectors' run. The base threshold is divided by 4. |
| 94 | Role Reversal | Buildings generate per-click production (NPC) instead of NPS. Click upgrades increase NPS instead of NPC. A run where your usual reflexes are completely reversed. |
| 95 | Absolute Concentration | The Mycелial Singularity (organism 9) produces ×2000, but all other organisms are locked. You start with 1 Singularity for free. Buy only Mycelial Singularities. |
| 96 | Cyclic Echo | NPS increases by 5% for each sporulation completed in the current random cycle (after the 100th sporulation). A powerful run for players who have reached endgame. |
| 97 | Diluted Time | Both NPS and threshold are divided by 5. An even more extreme version of P27 — progression is very slow but the threshold is very low. For players who want to sporulate quickly without production. |
| 98 | Fragmented Network | Each organism type of which you own 10 or more gets a ×1.3 production bonus. Below 10, it suffers ×0.7. Quickly reach 10 copies of each active type. |
| 99 | Pre-Singularity | Both NPS and clicks are ×10, but the sporulation threshold is also ×10. A run of spectacular power preparing for the ultimate mutation — production reaches astronomical levels. |
| ★ 100 | Absolute Singularity | ★ The ultimate sporulation. 10 Primordial Spores at the end, but the threshold is ×10. You start with 1 Mycелial Singularity for free. The highest reward in all of HyphoSphere — and the final challenge. |
Sporulations 10, 20, 25, 50, 70, 80, 90 and 100 are milestones that grant extra bonus spores or notable special effects. The 100th (Absolute Singularity) is the hardest and most rewarding in the game.
06. Sporulation Events
Throughout your game, sporulation events appear spontaneously on the screen. Some are opportunities to seize by clicking, others are threats to neutralize. They bring a dynamic dimension to your fungal empire.
Bioluminescent Spore
A golden, pulsing spore appears on the canvas. Click it before it disappears to choose between two rewards: either a ×7 production multiplier for 30 seconds, or the equivalent of 15 minutes of production credited instantly.
Sudden Fruition
A small mushroom grows in the lower part of the screen. Its growth animation leaves little time — click it to collect the equivalent of 10 minutes of production. A quick opportunity that rewards attentiveness.
Root Symbiosis
One of your organisms enters active symbiosis, shown by a swirling ring around it. Click it in time to recover the accumulated energy: the equivalent of 10 minutes of that organism's production, or 50% of your global NPS if that organism isn't active yet.
Spore Storm
Twenty multicolored spores invade the screen simultaneously. You have 15 seconds to click as many as possible: each clicked spore yields 1 second of production. A frantic event that demands speed and focus.
Bacterial Invasion
Twelve red bacteria slowly converge toward the center of your network, accelerating as time passes. Eliminate all of them within 30 seconds, or one will reach the mycelium core and reduce your production to 30% for 1 minute.
Sporal Migration
This event appears when launching the game after being away for at least 2 hours. A cloud of purple spores deposits a bonus calculated on your absence time: a way to reward players who return after a long break.
Global Network Activated
A fully passive event requiring no interaction. The entire mycelia network lights up in deep blue and automatically boosts your production ×7 for 30 seconds. Take advantage of it to click actively.
Cosmic Mycorrhiza
A golden spore appears at the center of the screen with a challenge: 15 clicks in 10 seconds. If you succeed, your production is multiplied ×20 and your clicks ×5 for 15 seconds. A partial success still grants a ×2 multiplier.
Toxic Sporulation
A hostile purple spore appears with a visible countdown around its outline. Click it before the timer expires to neutralize it without consequences. If you miss it, your production drops to 70% for 60 seconds.
Wandering Filaments
An event specific to the advanced phase of the game, once your empire has reached astronomical production amounts. Parasitic filaments orbit the center of the network and passively drain your production until neutralized. Each filament accumulates the nutrients it drains, so clicking it lets you recover them with a bonus.
Events are signaled by their luminous animations and distinctive colors. An indicator appears at the top of the screen during timed events to show the remaining time.
